Hi,

Are you using BSNL Broadband ?

If it is so, then do the following steps.


Applications -> Accessories -> open terminal and type the following..

sudo gedit /etc/resolv.conf

It will open one file.

In that you will add one more 'name server like as below '

nameserver 8.8.8.8

Then save it and close it.

Now you open firefox and browse..

Can you get browse result...?

Once you will get google search result,
then you can update ubuntu in synaptic package manager.
