Hello Ramya ,
 
There are two ways of installing Free/open source Drupal on a Properitary Windows XP .
 
Way 1 : If it is a pirated version , then your admin rights would have been taken away by the syatem once you have connected your system to internet and you would have been branded as pirate . So in that case it could be very uneasy to install drupal .
 
Way 2 : If it is a genuine bought XP , then you could refer the below slides which are 
Shared .

There is still an easier way , try it in GNU/Linux flavour ..
